We were so busy Halloween weekend. There were so many things we didn't get to do. Race for the Cure was Saturday morning. I sewed over 20 tutus for the Young Women to wear while they raced. I had trained for the race using a Couch to 5k program. But I didn't get to run, or even walk it. Chris' Aunt and Uncle were getting sealed in the Nashville Temple. Since we live so close we decided to go.
It was pretty amazing. They were sealed to 3 of their adult children. 2 of their other children, who were not being sealed were kind enough to watch out kids for us. It was a LONG day at the Temple. I have NEVER had to wait as long as we did that day. For some reason they were WAY behind. There are several reasons it could be, but I am not sure exactly why. I guess a new Temple Presidency had been called the night before. Also it sounded like some people had arrived late to some earlier events and it pushed everything back. The sealing was supposed to be at 12:30, but it didn't actually happen until after 3! I was so unprepared for the wait. I didn't have enough snacks or entertainment for the kids.
Some of the Temple workers were getting frustrated, and not just with us. There were about 75+ people waiting in that cramped waiting room and foyer of the smaller temples. There were 3 sealing before the one we were there for. At one point we though we were getting close because they were sending us in. So we took the kids outside and let them sit in the car to watch a movie. We turned the car on to save our battery. But then we waited about an hour in the sealing room before the sealing started. I guess someone that was watching the kids didn't want to waste gas, so they turned the car off. It took a LONG time for us to start the car when it was time to leave. It still isn't wanting to start right. But... it really isn't a big deal.
The sealing was awesome. It really was amazing. And the party afterwards was fun too. We left the next day since I had to get back to receive my Young Womanhood Recognition award. That is right, I completed my Personal progress. Part of which was the 5k training. I also made a cookbook... which is still in development and probably always will be!

Here is a picture of us in front of the Nashville Temple, to add to our family Temple pictures
We also had to skip our Ward Halloween Dance. The few pictures I have seen look like it was a fun time; sorry we missed it.

That stinks that it took so long at the temple! I'm guessing your family picture was taken before hand :) I'm glad you got to go, but sad that you didn't get to do the race you trained for. There are always others you could do and still wear a tutu if you wanted!
I am glad they had a special sealing after waiting so long! You made how many tutus??? Luna- you are a great lady! I put the ornament you made last year for YW on our tree and it is so pretty!
