Happy Anniversary!

Saturday was our 8 year Anniversary!  It is hard to believe sometimes.  For a couple of days Chris and I have been walking around in awe, and we would giggle every time we thought about it being 8 years.  I am not sure where the time has gone.

We have done so much together.  Here is a bit of an accounting of our lives together.

  • we have lived in 4 different homes (our first apartment, my parents house, my grandfather's house, and our current house)
  • Chris has attended 3 schools (one was only a correspondence course, but he has a transcript)
  • Chris has completed 2 degrees
  • Chris has almost completes his 17th term of school (only 6 more to go!)
  • 10 jobs
  • we have attended 3 sealing (our own, his sister's, and his Aunt and Uncle)
  • we have 3 kids
  • we now have 6 nieces and 2 nephews
  • found out my brother eloped which gave us an 8 year old niece listed above
  • we have had 8 deaths in our extended family (one parent, 3 grandparents, 3 uncles and 1 aunt)
  • we moved across the country
  • bought a house
  • we have visited 12 states (California, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, Tennessee, Utah, and Virginia) we have driven through many more, but these are the ones we stopped in to visit someone or see some sites.
  • 5 vehicles (one was totaled a month into our marriage)
  • 4 extended hospitals stays (3 births and one case of RSV)
  • we have made and changed plans more times than can be counted
  • no broken bones (I did break Chris' ear drum once, on accident)
  • 3 minor surgeries (all 3 kids got ear tubes)
  • 5 speech therapists
  • 8 pediatricians we have seen more than once
  • 8 family blogs, only 6 are still used
  • innumerable tears and twice as much laughter
It really has been a long 8 years, long in a good way.

To celebrate we went out to Texas de Brazil.  Before dinner we went and played Putt Putt Golf.  It was really fun.  It wasn't the best course I have been on, but probably my best score.  The course next to us had a tournament going on.   I think it inspired me to try a little harder.  I guess I never realize how serious it could be before that game.  I made the conscious decision to not take pictures so I could be in the moment.  We had a lot of fun.  It actually became a bit of an adventure.  Chris accidentally left our anniversary coupon at home, so we had to search for a place to print it out before our reservation.  We made it.  Then we had to battle downtown traffic.  It was quite congested.  I have no idea what was going on downtown, but it was busy!  There were also tons of prom groups out before the dance.  It really was a fun night to people watch!

Happy Anniversary! Sounds like you had a fun time out together. It is nice to "be in the moment" and leave the camera at home huh?
