As is customary (though it seem most no longer follow the custom) we took down the Christmas tree and decorations today. Today is Epiphany, making yesterday the 12th day of Christmas. Christmas is over. It makes me a bit sad. Something about Christmas makes me feel a bit warm. Even though the weather is about the same, it really does seem a bit colder. I am sure this year will blow by just as quickly and it will seem as though it is time to take out the decorations again.
Even though I am a bit sad to be ending Christmas, I am excited to get a little bit of space back in my house. And we made a lot of space. We gave away some furniture to someone who really needed it. It felt so good in so many ways. We have more room; we are more free. AND we got to help someone else in need. I guess it is appropriate since Epiphany is the Holiday used to recognize the Magi that visited the Christ Child. I know technically we gave it away on the 12th day of Christmas. These days, who needs 12 drummers drumming.... wouldn't you rather get some needed furniture?
Now that that HUGE digression is over, and Christmas is over and boxed away it is time to think about 2011. For us, 2010 was oh so much better than 2009. We were healthier, we faired far better in school, we were happier. So far, our plans are to make 2011 even better yet.
2011, we have plans for you! I hope you are ready for us!
