be careful what you wish for

This is the theme to our ward roadshow right now.  The youth are performing it in a week and a half.  The skit is about a bunch of cavemen people (there were concerns that the girls were not allowed to participate since we were calling them cavemen)  in "bored"-rock complaining about being bored.  They stumble upon a wishing well and begin making wishes (it really is so easy even a caveman can do it) They wish for fun, it doesn't turn out how they plan.  They finally figure out they had fun all along with their friends and family.

About 2 weeks ago our sheets started to get a little hole in them.  It has happened to us before.  The problem with a little hole is that it becomes a big hole.  Every time I tried to  keep the hole closed together to prevent the hole from getting bigger I seemed to make it worse by putting my finger through a new spot.  Pretty soon I realized it was getting ridiculous.  I woke-up one morning under sheet and on top of the sheet at the same time.  I just don't have the budget right now to get new sheets.  We like a certain set of sheets because they fit our mattress so nicely.    I guess it will be time soon.

Eli had the flu, again, earlier this week.  It was a mess.  At some point he caught me in a moment of whining and weakness. (we both were participating in both activities.)  And I let him watch TV in my bed while I cleaned up something else.  OOPS!  I had to change my sheets.  I guess it saved me a load of laundry since I threw them away.  I wasn't sure what would be left if I washed them.

I put our back-up sheets on the bed.  It is always nice to put new fresh sheets on the bed, especially a set that is whole, not holey.

Today Eli came to me to ask for a snack.  I saw he had something on his eye... eyelid to be exact.  Living around Optometry student they may have actually thought it was on his eye.  No, it was on the outside of his upper left eyelid.  I had the darnedest time getting it off.  It was black and took some wrestling and restraining and work.   I knew there was a mess in the house somewhere just waiting for me to find it.

For the last couple of months I have been a little perplexed because I can't find my make-up.  Just the good stuff is missing.  My must haves.  My good make-up brushes, my favorite colors, all the new stuff.  I last saw it in San Fransisco for New Years.  I think. I thought I maybe left it in Cali.  But the place I thought I would have left it was in a box that I would have my dad mail us if we weren't moving back.  Well.... I had him mail it.  NOT THERE!  So now I am not too sure.

In the mean time I am using my second choices.  The stuff I am not used to using.  I have truly been contemplating buying some new stuff, but we just DON'T have the money right now.  It would be a BIG pretty penny to replace what I had.  I hate that.  One thing that has bugged me the most is my mascara. ugh.  But I have not turned every stone yet... so I am holding out... especially since I just bought the one in my missing travel bag.

I was lamenting to myself yet again at the fact I have two bottles of eye make-up remover.  One bottle that is 1/2 full and the other is 3/4 full.  So I can't combined them.

Guess what I found!  I found the mess. Not my make-up.  Well, it was my make-up, but not the make-up I wanted to find.  Or maybe the make-up I did want to find, at least in this condition.  I found an expensive tube of mascara, that I didn't much like, but am forced to use right now, bent and smeared all over my sheets and duvet.  It was also on the floor, but thankfully we have hardwood floor so Eli was able to clean that up easily.

Luckily I had some extra eye make-up remover.  I guess I need to be more specific with my desires because I still don't know where my make-up is.

Sounds fun, where are the pictures? I want to see the puke, the smeared mascara, all of it.

That happened to me in college - with the missing makeup. Of course it was a roommate who was stealing it, but she never admitted to it and I never got it back, but she had stolen other things from me as well throughout our days together...still don't like her :) Hopefully one of your roommates didn't take it to "play" with
