Establishing a House of God: Organize

I really felt it was important to start my kids off in the right direction.  We needed a new behavior modification system and a fresh way to get the chores done. So I got some inspiration from pinterest and found this article about behavior and a points system.  So I set to making some charts.

I also decided that we would clean the house, at least the downstairs, by zones.  And each child would have the assignment for a month.  That way I didn't have to change things around as often.  We talked about how the long length of time will allow them to actually improve in their cleaning of that area.

Every Friday night we have a family movie night.  So we decided to use that as the reward.  To be able to participate in the movie night a child must have 50 points.  They start with 100.

Lose points

1 – Whining

3- Yelling

5 – Fighting

5 – Bad behavior

10 – Chores not done

Earn points

Serving

Kind to each other

Extra chores

I didn't give a point value for earning points, that way I can base it on the size of the deed.

We all love family movie night, so I am hoping this will really help them to work towards keeping those points.  I didn't warn them that point values and needs may be changed.
