So I was able to take Annalise her to allergist appointment. The doctor decided not to do s skin scratch test with her since it was so obvious she had a nut allergy. There is a slight risk of having an anaphylaxic reaction to a scratch test, so he really taught me a lot about anaphylaxis. He also drew some blood to have some allergy testing run on the blood. He tested for all the nuts in the package she ate and reacted too. Then I also asked him to test for pecans since we have a large pecan tree in both our front yard and backyard. I wanted to know how seriously we need to think about changing our landscape. He said since we were only goign to be here for about 18 more months we don't need to cut them down... but make sure she doesn't eat any nuts from the tree. Chris and I aren't worried. We don't think any of the kids realize they are edible... and most that make it to where we could collect them.... aren't.
He told me that I should use the epipen as soon as two systems are affected by the allergen. So hives would be skin, cough or wheezing would be lungs, vomiting would be stomach, fainting would be blood pressure. Apparently with her last attack I should have used an epipen if I had one and called 911 and gone to the hospital. Now I know. It is amazing how expensive those epipens are. They are about $150 a piece and you need 2 since they only last about 10-20 minutes. So if the ambulance hasn't gotten there yet, you have to administer the second one. Also, you have to replace them about every year. But it is worth it!
We go back in a year to have her bloodwork run again. There might be a chance she will out grown the allergy.
Since the appointment was in Tupelo and we had to make the drive, I decided to stop by Elvis' birthplace.

This was the house he was born in and grew-up in, until he moved to Memphis.
Young Elvis with his first guitar
A car similar to the one the family drove to Memphis in.
Just before we left I took Anna out for breakfast. I had never been to a Waffle House. I really wanted to go to one before I left the South. I know it is a weird thing, but now I can stop wondering.
We did get the results back on the blood work. She was allergic to everything... except the pecans. We couldn't believe it. But we will still probably avoid them. It is just easier to avoid them all. I forgot to ask what her levels were to see if she might out grow the allargy. Apparently if the numbers are low and stay low through the years there is a chance to outgrow it.
