Happy Accident

About a week ago I decided it was time again to talk to the kids about fire safety.  They are getting older and it is a good thing to do.  I set-off the smoke alarm so they could hear it.  We talked about our fire plan.  Overall it was pretty good.

Yesterday I had some errands to run.  One was to go to the library.  It just so happened they were having some fire safety demonstrations for kids just outside the library.  So I quickly did a little math in my head and readjusted my time schedule for the day so the kids could play and learn!

First they went over ot a smoke detector and it went off.  They then had to crawl through a "hall filled with smoke" and feel a door to see if it was hot.  Then they had to climb through the window.  Stop, drop, and roll and then meet at the mailbox.

Below is a picture of them dragging a dummy to safety.

They got to put out a fire with the hose.
