First we dropped Eli off at preschool. I just had a feeling it would be much easier with one less child while doing the drop off. I did snap a few pictures of her before we left the house. My parents used to do this with my brother and me, so it just doen't feel like the first day of school without some pictures taken.
So I spent the day running errands with just Annalise at my side. (I mean that literally since I still carry her on my hip)
At 3:20 I headed over to pick her up at school. Again it was crazy. But somehow I found her in the mass of people waiting for rides. As we got int he car I asked her about her day.
Luna: What did you do today?
Kiah: colored
Luna: Any thing else?
Kiah: had music class. I like music class.
she then went on to explain something I didn't really understand. I think it must have been a pointer of some sort, but she made sur I knew it would not hurt her. She also talked about dragonflies and how they will bite and kill you. And she couldn't go outside to play because it was too hot and when it gets cooler they can go outside. She sat on the green square on the carpet.
Kiah: can you give me money for Chocolate milk next time
(oops, I forgot to pack a drink)
Kiah: when do I go again?
Luna: Tomorrow
Kiah: what about the next day?
Luna: you will go everyday
Kiah: for how long?
Luna: uh, the rest of your life, just like Daddy.
Shoot, not a good sign when she is already tired of school and she only went one day!
I did find out that it was the craziest first day of school drop off ever. And The kindergartners get out early so I can pick her up early.
The second day I had the task of dropping her off with Eli and Annalise. It was a little rocky for Eli... which I expected. He didn't want to get back in the car after dropping off Kiah. Luckily the crossing guard teasingly scared him by offering to let him stay with her all day. He got in pretty quickly after that.
During Annalise
s morning nap, Eli and I got some 1-on-1 time. It was kinda fun. I have never really had that with Eli. We blew bubbles, played with the left over fondant from Kiah's birthday cake.

wow what a new adventure for you all! I like that you told her she will be in school for the rest of her life like dad, that is great
I am sooooo glad you are taking "first day of school" pix ... it is fun looking back at each year and seeing how much you grew each year. I took first day pix because your grandma did of me. Tradition!
Speaking of How Much She's Grown ... Kiah looks so big ... she looks like she's ready for grade school.
And, now, Eli gets more of your one-on-one attention which Kiah got when she was 2 (b4 Eli was born).
I know that January 1 is the 1st day of a new year, but some how it always seemed that the beginning of school was a fresh start ... new beginning.
I love the one on one time, make the most of it! First day pics are a must too. I love Kiah's shoes and backpack, very cute.
Wow I bet you can't believe that this day has finally come!!! i hope she likes it better once the first crazy week is over. Kindergarten is GREAT
