A New Book

Saturday night was a rough night. Chris and I both stayed-up late. Not for any particular reason, we were just getting things done around the house. We somewhat expected Anna to have a bit of a rough nice since we found out the night before, she had an ear infection. But the night we had caught us both by surprise. Kiah woke-up screaming. We could not figure out what she wanted or needed. Sometime in the middle of she we found out she needed to go to the bathroom, but didn't want to use either of the bathrooms. We aren't really sure she was fully awake. Not to big a surprise since she is my daughter.

Finally we got her settled down by offering to let her sleep in our bed. So, Chris, not trusting the top bunk decided to sleep ont he couch. Only top be awoken within an hour by Eli. For some reason he got very thirsty and needed a drink. Back to sleep. Within and hour, Anna woke-up wanting some more tylenol. She has been running a very high fever with this ear infection. Chris apparently had trouble getting back to sleep. I didn't know this unti l Sunday night.

On Sunday night as we were going to bed Chris and I were lamenting about how awful the night before was and how much we DID NOT want an encore. It was then that Chris told me he had trouble getting back to sleep. I suggested that he should have read a book.

Luna: You should have read a book.
Chris: I did.
Luna: Which book? (I knew what was in the area where he was trying to sleep. They are my books, so I thought it would be a parenting book, or "Shopaholic Ties the Knot." None of the books would have been of much interest to Chris, so I was amused he had to read one of those books.)
Chris: "Color Kittens"

I laughed so hard. I think it was the second hardest I have ever laugh at Chris. The first being before we were married and we were sitting around my apartment with a bunch of roommates and friends talking about a school assignment I had to provide group therapy regarding dating for Young Single Adults. During the wrap-up discussion Chris announced he was "Keen." I know it isn't funny now, but the entire room laughed for quite some time. We have no idea why either.

Well, last night I laughed just as hard. I know many of you are not familiar with "Color Kittens." It is by the same author who wrote the riveting book "Good Night Moon." YES! it is a Golden Book.

Chris: Well, I had never read it before
Luna: What did you think (btw, this half of the conversation was MUCH later and I was still choking back laughter)
Chris: it isn't as good as "Good Night Moon"

Oh that is funny! Was it long enough for him to feel sleepy? He must be a parent :)

Thanks for the laugh. Of course it isn't as good as Goodnight Moon or everyone would have heard of it too.
