Diapers! Diapers! Diapers! 5 years ago today I started to change diapers everyday. And everyday since then I have changed many diapers everyday. I have changed more diapers than I can really count, or care to calculate.
I tried to do cloth diapers for awhile, but it is really hard without full household support. So it went by the wayside and is now in storage for emergency purposes.
Kiah has very skinny legs and the only way to keep her from leaking was to use Huggie Supreme cuz the leg holes are smaller AND a cloth diaper cover over the diaper. Eventually I was able to switch her to generic diapers. We used Costco's Kirkland diapers. That is, until Eli was born.
The kid is such a heavy wetter. He is a big kid too. But he drinks and drinks and drinks 24 hrs a day. I am not kidding you. He takes multiple sippy cups to bed and gets thirsty in the night. But even on days he doesn't do that he pees through the diapers. This is true since day 1. So we could not use generic diapers with him. We have to always up size him. We mostly use Huggies. Just the regular Huggies though. When he was little we would use Luvs on occasion.
Recently I didn't want to make a trek to Sam's Club with all the kids and I needed some diapers. So I bought some Luvs at the Grocery store while I was there. BIG mistake. I don't know what the heck is wrong with them, but the right tab keeps ripping off. So I keep finding Eli with his diaper either missing, hanging on one leg, or sliding out his shorts. One night it happened while we were out to dinner and the little girl next to us Kindly point out to us "The baby ain't got no diaper on."
So this morning Chris was fed up and decided to call them. First they had him check the serial number on the box, but it was smudge. Then they had him check the number actually printed on the diapers, nope, it was chopped off during manufacturing. Finally they checked the serial number imprinted on the plastic wrapper around the diapers. No "flags" on the number. Oh well. I think he mentioned they were going to send us some coupons for Pampers. Great, whatever.
The funny part is, Chris didn't put a diaper on Eli before he made the call. So Chris walked back into the room to fin Eli standing over a pile of Poop. Luck Chris had quite the mess to clean up!

Jackson was a seriously heavy wetter too and we had to use Huggies overnights with him. They didn't start until size three though so he just had to wear big diapers for awhile. good luck!!
Hey look! It let me leave a comment :)
ps- I order diapers from diapers.com or amazon.com because you can almost always get free shipping. I love free shipping :)
Ok - I think I'm done commenting now....
That is crazy how different they are. We are having the tab breaking off problem with the Walgreens brand - I think we just need to go a size up, but still - they aren't the best quality but they were cheap!
not much change in 30 years ... sigh ... we used duct tape
