Christmas Decorations

We are going to be in California for Christmas, so we have done very little decorating for Christmas this year. I won't be back until the end of Jan, and I didn't want to leave everything for Chris to clean-up.

What we have done is set-up a few Advent Calendars. One we put together out of felt. You can see the Angel on it for the first day of December. The second countdown is a combination of 2. A long time ago I bought this chain of small velvet pouches that were numbered from 1-24 to use as an Advent counter. This is the first year we are using it. The second part is an idea I found in "Friend" magazine from December 2000. It is a puzzle of the Nativity. There are 24 pieces. Each piece has a scripture to read and a small activity or goal to accomplish that ties into the scripture. So each red pouch has a puzzle piece in it. It also may contain a small something for the kids, like a piece of candy, or a trinket.

Yeah for Christmas. We love Christmas
