So we have had a lot of illness flowing through our house! Which means I have cleaned-up a LOT of bodily fluids!

I can't remember if I mentioned this, but Chris a cold just as finals were ending. So the one week he had off before he started his summer job was spent in bed. Then about a month later (at the end of May) he got the flu. It was hard, cuz I was teaching at church, and since Eli is too young for nursery, it meant Eli had to stay home with Chris. A few weeks later Eli was sick with the flu for a full week. It was awful. I think I washed the sheets in his crib about 5 times that week. Just when i was tired of laundry Eli was kind enough to stand-up in his crib and hurl over the side. You would think it wouldn't be too big a deal since we have hardwood floors, but that would be a wrong assumption. First of all, the sheer volume was n issue. Second of all, it splatters. Third of all, we have foam letter/puzzle tiles on the floor in the kids room. I pretty much had to wash all of the tiles in the bathtub. Which is harder than it sounds, or at least getting the things to dry is harder than you might think!

Anyway, I was beginning to get concerned about dehydration, cuz Eli was refusing all food and drink, and I was only needing to change his diaper 1 maybe 2x/day. Of course one of of the nights he got sick (all over Chris, mind you) was the night before my Gestational Diabetes test. I wasn't very happy to wake up on that day, since I had to fast before the test. So the next day I went to my test with Kiah, and Chris took Eli tot he Doctor, which is basically next door. So after my appointment I went next door with Kiah to meet-up with Chris (Honestly, it was to help him with all the paperwork). As we were climbing the stairs to the office Kiah fell down and hit her mouth on the steps. She stood-up and was crying, which I expected, but what I didn't expect was for "red paint" to come spilling out of her mouth. She was so frightened by the blood she was paralized. So picked her up, cupped my hand under her mouth, and carried her up the stairs. We scooted into the bathroom, notifying Chris along the way. I finally got most of the blood stopped, but I still wasn't sure how bad it was (I only knew she still had all her teeth), but I figured we were at the doctor's office, so I didn't worry too much. I tried to clean all the blood up as best i could. But I found blood on my purse and cell phone a couple days later, lol.

Ultimately both kids were fine. Kiah gashed the inside of her lip and scratched the outside. Eli was not too badly dehydrated. And since he was willing to drink Sprite out of a Medicine Dropper the Doctor didn't want to send him to get an IV. He was better a few days later anyway.

Later that day Kiah went to the Children's Museum to see the New Curious George exhibit. She was too afraid of the person dressed up as Curious George to get too close. Of course she was upset she didn't hug him and wanted to go back to do so shortly after leaving. She did take a picture with a smaller statue of George. She also got her face painted.

I would like to stay it all ends there, but it doesn't. Chris got the flu again, of course the day I had to teach I church again (I teach every 4th Sunday) I sent him to the Doctor, cuz I had had enough. Both episodes were exactly the same. I am awoken at night to the bed shaking from having the chills so violently. He is usually radiating heat so badly I can hardly stand it. This time he got REALLY nauseous. I just felt him getting sick every four weeks was a bit much.

It was almost one hot mess getting to church, but worked out in the end. I woke up at what I thought was 8:10. SO I figured we would miss the first hour of church. But Kiah would still make Primary and I taught 3rd hour. So I called the person who was in charge of organizing the teachers and let them know they should not worry, I would be there. I took a shower, got Kiah ready (Eli was going to stay with Chris again) and we left. Now when I got int he car the clock said 8:00. I couldn't figure out why the clock was wrong. Then there were no cars on the road. The final thing was there were no cars in ANY church parking lots. It WAS 8:00am. So I went back home, got Eli ready and went back in time for Church to start. Apparently when I looked at the clock when I woke-up I read 8:00am byut it was actually 6:00am. I felt bad for calling someone at 6:00am. NO wonder they didn't answer the phone. Eli was SUPER tired when it was time for me to teach and refused to interact with anyone but me. SO I ended-up tying him to my back. He quickly fell asleep and I taught my lesson.

Chris went tot he Doctor and they couldn't figure out what exactly was going on. They think he may be having some appendix "issues." So he has a follow-up appointment next week to go over all of his lab work. If his problem is the appendix, I suspect he will be having it removed at some point. The convenient time would be Just before school starts again, that way he doesn't have to take much, if any, time off of work. And it will work toward the same deductible this year that my pregnancy will be adding too.

Also right now, I have been watching 2 additional kids. Normally I only watch them 2 days a week, but right now the other woman who watches them during the week is out of town. The hardest part is scheduling all of our appt. I had to rearrange a BUNCH of appt.

July 4th is next week. My parents are coming for a visit, and we can't wait. They are bringing a Van to give us! YIPPEE!

In the pictures you can see Kiah hugging the "little" Curious George statue, he face painted/jeweled, and Kiah waving to The "big" Curious George with her "yellow Hat" on (you see her from behind in blue and green)
