April Fool's

I can't believe it has been a month since I last posted. Oh well. Time does seem to fly by right now. Eli is still having problems with Ear infections, or the same ear infection. It is very hard to determine. He has a follow-up later this week, and he is supposed to have a referral to an ENT for a consultation for Tubes. I just hope he gets better soon.

I had an ultra sound for a lump they found in my breast. They couldn't find anything. I think it was a milk duct that hadn't fully drained, but I wanted to play it safe and get the ultra sound.

Chris and I are a part of a March Madness Bracket Pool with some friends from Church and school. Whoever has the lowest total score has to host a dinner party for everyone else. Right now we are in the lead, and I think it is impossible for us to fall all the way into last place. Which I am thankful for cuz I can't seem to get everything together and clean at the same time. SO I was a bit anxious for a bit. But now I am not worried.

I am now officially in the 2nd trimester. Which is unbelievable to me. It has gone by so fast. The Doctor prescribed some anti-nausea medicine so that I can be a better mother. I was spending a LOT of time in bed. It seemed to be the only thing that allowed me to not lose everything. Kiah has been incredibly sweet and helpful through the whole thing. SHe is such a big girl. She actually was able to turn one VERY "ugly" moment into something truly endearing. I was playing with Eli in my bed, when things began to go south. I put him on the ground and ran for the bathroom. As I was "praying to the porcelain god" Kiah came up behind me and stroked my back and told me "its Ok mama" and then she dragged Eli out of the bathroom and shut the door. She then came and knocked on the door and asked me if I was alright and if I was done. It was so sweet. But now I am not having that problem thanks to Zofran. Well, thanks to generic Zofran. I just couldn't shell out the $2000/month for the real thing.

Today is MeeMaw's birthday. So Kiah wanted to make a pink birthday cake for her. She also wanted to get hats and balloons. But I told her we could draw pictures of those. The truth is at Wal-mart they didn't have any party hats and I didn't need 100 balloons. Cuz Kiah would want them all blown-up at once.

And since it is April Fool's day we decided to play a little joke on Chris too. He had mentioned yesterday that the wives of the guys he carpools with make really good cookie all the time. Implying that I can't make cookies, or if I do, they aren't very good. I can make cookies, and lots of other yummy goodies, but I choose not too cuz I have problems with self control, and Chris has been really good about eating healthy recently. So why even tempt ourselves. But I thought I would take the opportunity. I made some Chocolate Chip cookies. But the last 3 I added extra salt; a LOT of extra salt. So when he walked through the door I told him that Kiah wanted to make him cookies and I handed him the special April Fool's cookie. He took a bite and had a look on his face of "hmm, this is different" but then took another bite. With Each bite he got more confused. So halfway through the cookie I asked how he liked his "April Fool's Cookie" and if he wanted a "real cookie" He said he did. I wasn't too suprised. It actually took about a cookie and a half to get the salt out of his mouth. Ha Ha. Serves him right for insulting my cooking.
