Greenwood, MS

While my dad was visiting we took a trip to Greenwood, MS.  That is where "The Help" was filmed.  But that is not why we went to Greenwood.  My dad found out that a friend from way, way back was living there.  And much to his surprise she is in the Mississippi House of Representatives.  Something my dad never would have imagined when they were working together in a small theatre company in Texas.  It was a lot of fun to go and visit with her and her husband.  Her husband comes from a long line of farmers.  They have 4500 acres.

Her husband was telling us about the office building he used, I don't know the back story about how he acquired it, but in it was a trophy room from the previous owner.  It was unreal!  To say he was a hunter would be an understatement!  The room was so jam packed it made you wonder what didn't make it in?  A bit scary really!

The most irronic part was the certificate below.  It is hard to read, but it says "This is to certify that Luther Wade is a Regular Member of Game Conservation International 'Game Coin' 'Prevent the End of the Game'"
We also went to a museum.  I can't remember the name of it, but the kids were able to dress up in the Civil War room.

On our way home we stopped at Elephant Rock State Park.  We took a little hike to find the elephants.
