Then at the park I started to notice I was smiling lopsided. I thought to myself, "Hmm... who little quirk did I pick-up? Who have I been around a lot recently that smiles lopsided?"
Later that day i went and picked-up Chris from school. As we were driving home I mentioned to Chris how much my eye was stinging. He told me it was really red and was probably dry. I really don't remember much of what he said after that cuz I was too much in shock. Cuz I looked in the mirror and saw that half my face wasn't moving.
We talked about it and we decided I had Bell's Palsy. I freaked.
I went to the doctor the next day and he confirmed it stating that I had a textbook case of Bell's Palsy. I got a round of anti-virals and some steroids. The anti-virals because there is some research that it is related to the shingles virus... which I found interesting since one nurse I talked to about my hands the week before thought it could be shingles. Yes we agreed it would be a weird presentation, but it could have been none the less.
I also went to the eye doctor because my eye was not shutting and it was getting VERY dry and stung so much.
They gave me some gel to put in my eye and I have to tape my eye shut at night so I don't scratch it on accident. So Annoying.
Hopefully It will get better quickly.
