This year, Spring felt kinda like a Jack-in-the-box. One day it wan't here and then the next it was. It has come in with vengeance too! The pines are letting their yellow pollen fall like they think they are Pixies trying to help the world fly. There is a fine yellow coat covering EVERYTHING! It has not help anyone with their allergies. Then there were the wasps. They were floating around everywhere. They were chased off by the bumble bees. Apparently they don't get along. Ants! We cannot get rid of the ants. They seem to mill around without a purpose; no goal in mind. Birds. They haven't attacked our house yet like they did
a year ago. It was straight out of a Hitchcock movie. Truly! But they are singing up a storm. And they are flying their mating dances. I actually watch a couple. I snapped a picture as best I could of a brief pause in on a line in their courting.
The flowers are un-real this year. Things are blooming like I have never seen before, literally. Tulips popped-up in our yard this year. I have to admit, the first spring we were here it was a shock to find everything. Our sleepy yard dressed up a bit with some daffodils, hyacinth, azaleas, a dogwood, crepe myrtle, and hydrangea. But this is the first year of Tulips!
And everything seems to be blooming big and brighter, even the half dead redbud. I thought for sure it was dead and gone after last years pathetic attempt at life. Boy was I wrong; this is its best year yet.
One of our Red Buds
As I drive around I am so in awe of the wisteria. They are literally so heavy laden with blooms they lounge on the ground. I love driving around and seeing everything in bloom. And we have 2 variety of tiny purple flowers that have popped-up. I am not sure what type of weed they are, but they are so pretty. I have lived in the South now for almost 3 years and this year I really feel like I am visiting for the first time. I love the spring here. I am a little nervous about this Summer. How hot and muggy is it going to get this year? Are the tornado going to be big too?
The lawn is starting to get tall, we will need to mow it this week. The amazing part is, our Pecan trees just started to get leaves yesterday. Our dogwood just got leaf buds 3 days ago. It is always behind the rest of the neighborhood. But it does have a handful of blossoms already.
The beginning of our azaleas
Our hydrangea look so great this year. I LOVE them. I guess that is why I had them as my bridal bouquet. It makes it kinds fun to have them right outside our bedroom window.
Yay... we have a lot of weeds blooming too! Eli kept giving me some dandelions. It was pretty cute.

I love spring too--it sounds like your yard is very pretty. I wish we had more blooming over here.
Great pictures and how cool to have tulips pop up unexpectedly.
your yard is so pretty!! Our yard as not one flower... its pretty sad. So we have been planting flowers like crazy!
I LOVE Eli's hair! Too cute!!
Wowza, when did Eli get the hairdo? :)
The funny thing about spring around here is that there are really not many flowers in the yards - I think it's because alot of the trees flower instead.
