So our family went through the wringer last month... Well I suppose it has leaked through to this month.
Our insurance started March. So I thought we should all go and get physicals.. since we had not had them in awhile. Chris had some weird lab results come back... so he had to get more testing done. Eventually we found out somehow he had contracted a life threatening illness... but did not know whether he still had it or whether he was lucky and recovered.
This meant that we had to check Kiah and my immunity level... which was a pain.
Oh yeah... I mentioned that Kiah got Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease from school. Then the next week they thought she had pink eye... nope and ear infection... don't ask. SO then we get some antibiotics for her. She had an allergic reaction. So we got a new... another reaction.
Oh wait.. it gets better. So then Chris gets a cold... and I get a copld and think I have an ear infection. Then Chris gets pink eye. Then I get pink eye in both eyes.
We found out that Chris had recovered from his illness and was now immune. (the kicker I though was when we called to tell his parents that he had the disease.. but we weren't sure if it was active... mind you it could have killed him.. his mom was like "oh, ah.. that is nice dear.. umm we are watrching the game right now... we can't talk." I asked.. "What game could they possibly be watching that is more important than the life of their youngest son?" It was a high school Basketball final game... yeah I really do mean High school. SOme Kids was supposed to be REALLY good. I thought.. um.. the kid isn't realated.. nor is his life at stake.)
Anyway.. I digress. So then Chris gets this sore throat... He is told it is strep.. they perscribe the meds.. then we get the labs back... not strep... But he still has the sore throat... So then I get the sore throat... so I have it tested for mono.. cuz I thought for sure that is what it had to be if it wasn't strep.. I mean.., I was tired. But who wouldn't be after a month like this. I was on the phone with the nurse advise line almost EVERDAY. I have everyone's medical record number memorized now. And if I am asked one more time if my addresse has changed since yesterday.. I think I might explode. I mean.. honestly.. if I was in the middle of moving I might bring that up.
Anyway...all the tests came back negative... so no strep.. no mono. Pink eye is gone.. colds are clearing up... still figuring out the sore throat thing... hope Kiah's ear infection is gone... but not sure.. she goes back to the doctor on Thursday.
WHAT HAPPENED? I guess that year without insurance was saved up for this month.
